Two's
White Oak Learning Academy uses a specifically designed curriculum to encourage the "learning through exploration" that two year olds need. We provide small and large group activities, along with center-based activities for learning opportunities.
The Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) for two year olds include:
- Gross motor skills- how two year olds control body movement, coordination and balance, and how they begin expressing creativity through movement
- Fine motor skills- these include how children control hands and fingers, and develop hand-eye coordination
- Self-help skills - these GELS describe skills two year olds possess for feeding, helping get dressed, toileting, hygiene, and other daily tasks
- Health and safety skills- how two year olds name foods, begin paying attention to personal health needs, and follow safety instructions
